![]() With an Intel Core i5, 12GB of ram, and an Nvidia GTX1050 2GB GPU it more than gets the job done. As a matter of fact I bought this computer specifically for animation and video production. Things that you can't see because they are behind me: A massive collection of Lego stored in IKEA cabinets and a Billy Bookcase (apparently I have a thing for IKEA).Īll of my animation work is stored and completed on my desktop PC that is sitting slightly out of the shot to the right. The table I use is actually made of two smaller IKEA tables setup adjacent to each other. (Note: the Pixar / IKEA lamp design is based on the Luxo Lamp, a great choice for lighting sets!)įor larger setups I will use diffuser box photography lights not featured in the shot. I also have an IKEA desk lamp that I sometimes use to augment the two smaller lights I actually bought this lamp on the sole ground that it resembles the Pixar Jumping Lamp. I like the softer warm light from the regular incandescent bulbs as opposed to that of CLF bulbs. Noah: For lighting I usually stick to the light box and desk lamps from Polaroid that you can see in the photo. ![]() He's been really busy of late, and has a great setup for his advanced productions that use a combination of DSLR & the 1080P camera included with the Stopmotion Explosion Animation Kit. After some experimenting I finally opted for MilkyTracker, which is actually a FastTracker 2 clone but can export songs in the Protracker format. So it was clear that my AmigaOne X5000, which I had mainly used for system programming and occasional gaming, would soon get a new task to prove itself.ĪmigaOS4 is not short of music trackers, although the choice is naturally not as wide as on classic Amigas. I also couldn’t help noticing that my old Protracker modules sounded really horrible, considering today’s standards. But as others picked up speed and kept showing new stuff, my cowardly decision became more and more embarrassing. So I first thought I’d just fish out some unused music I made in the 90s and be done with it. The drunken idea would have been all buried and forgotten were it not for our trusty coder Defor (the tallest guy in the photo above), who sent us an e-mail a few months later saying “All right boys, so I’m working on the demo, remember? How about you make some graphics and music for it?” I immediately knew I was in trouble because I hadn’t composed any demo tune since 2000. Demos ran rampant, monitors flickered, beer flowed like a river, so it was inevitable that someone would eventually stand up and say, “Yes, we can! Let’s make a new Vectors demo!” Vectors & friends at The Thirty Party, June 2019 To everyone’s surprise the event extended into the small hours, well past the time our function room was hired for. Most of us hadn’t met for good twenty years, so I expected a brief and rather subdued social occasion attended by life-worn, pot-bellied family guys. Last year some good soul remembered that Vectors would soon turn thirty, and we organized a get-together to celebrate the anniversary. This gave us a strong sense of belonging, and I dare say that our creative endeavours were driven by the fact that we were pals, above all. Unlike many other demo groups, the members of which were often scattered across different cities or even countries, we could easily meet up in person to discuss things, work on our projects, or just have some serious fun with our Amigas. ![]() I was lucky to live in a city which, albeit small, concentrated enough local talent to have formed a full-fledged demo group called Vectors, which I joined in early 1993. Much of my creative activity in the 1990s was related to the Amiga demoscene. ![]() Much more likely, the Castlevania spin-off would go back to the early days and chart the life and times of the Belmont clan. The idea of following Vlad and Lisa around the globe has some scope for exploration, but with the former antagonist giving up his wicked ways, the series would have to find a new villainous vamp to sink its teeth into. It's entirely possible that the spin-off could pick up any number of stories from the Castlevania cast. Dracula finally put his quest for vengeance behind him, and with the pair deciding to explore the world together, they also vowed to keep their resurrection a secret from Alucard's happy ending. Although there isn't a post-credit scene in the traditional sense, there's one final twist when a reanimated Dracula and Lisa are seen alive and well.Īlthough the process to bring their souls from Hell and splice them into one body failed, the star-crossed lovers escaped limbo and found themselves in their original bodies. With Alucard and Greta settling down alongside Trevor and (a pregnant) Sypha, it looks like all's well that ends well. After a shocking reveal that Malcolm McDowell's Varney was actually a guise for Death himself, Trevor took the fight to the big bad and banished the hate-filled spectre using old magic.įor a brief second, it looked like our hero had made the ultimate sacrifice, but with a last-minute fakeout, Trevor revealed he'd survived the ordeal when Saint Germain's final act sucked Belmont into the safety of the Infinite Hallway. What happened in the Castlevania season 4 finale?Ĭastlevania's blood-soaked swansong saw the various factions come together for a final battle at the regal Castle Dracula. Note: Castlevania finale spoilers follow. Sadly, there's no news on when we'll get to revisit the franchise's complicated lore or who the main players will be. Instead of season five, a spin-off series has been commissioned that will be set in the same world as Castlevania. There are just 10 episodes in the season, with 'It's Been a Strange Ride' giving the series a definitive end.īefore you weep red, salty tears, after deciding that the lifeblood has been drained from the main series, Netflix has promised the world of vampire villains and booze-swilling Belmonts will return in some form. Castlevania season four just dropped on the streaming service and aims to round off the stories of Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades and Alucard Tepes in style. If we ever see another truly original Castlevania game period, I’d be fairly surprised, though delighted.Netflix is creaking closed the Castlevania coffin, as the hit anime has come to an end after four short seasons. Resurrection would have also added Victor Belmont, a Belmont clan member who looked just an absolute gobsmacking amount like Tim Curry.Īnyone hoping for a resurrection of Resurrection shouldn’t hold their breath, as Konami seems well and truly out of the internal video game development at this point. Sonia still got her GBC game, Castlevania Legends, before Resurrection folded though. In those days, series producer Koji Igarashi bafflingly questioned the validity of a woman defeating Dracula in the middle ages, despite making the protagonists of several of his next few games women. The game starred Sonia Belmont, who was at that point the first Belmont to canonically defeat Dracula before Castlevania: Lament of Innocence changed that. Presumably, also, the death of the Dreamcast contributed to the game’s cancellation. The game was apparently battling internal drama within Konami as the first American-made Castlevania game, with art director Greg Orduyan claiming in 2007 that people in the company were leaking false concerns to the press to poison the well. ![]() ![]() The prototype disc is from a build before the Resurrection’s first and only behind-closed-doors E3 showing in 1999. |
